bullet SCHS's 'Zakat' Campaign During The Holy Month Of Ramadan

18/09/2008

SCHS organizes the fund raising campaign 'Zakat' yearly at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan in order to support the services provided for people with special needs. As SCHS is a local institution providing services for people with special needs at any time or at any places, it supports its activities by the generous donations and contributions of the surrounding community. In addition, SCHS has an obligation towards the disabled in providing them with decent and comfortable life.

'Our desire to thank you is keeping us going on' is this year's slogan. Mr. Jihad Abed Qader, Head of the Human Resources Department, who organized the 'Zakat' campaign, pointed out that choosing this slogan was not random or to attract people's attention. It is rather a gesture of gratitude to all those who helped SCHS reach this high status and good reputation in educating and rehabilitating the disabled in order to become active members in their society.

SCHS is doing its best along with other institutions in order to make the disabled independent and capable of facing the challenges of daily life with confidence and determination. This will make the society respect them rather than show sympathy.

"The fund raising campaign 'Zakat' is part of SCHS's enormous efforts to provide more support for people with special needs on all levels. This support must come from those who appreciate this noble effort of our organization" said: Mr. Jihad Abed Qader, Head of the Human Resources Department, who organized the 'Zakat' campaign.

He called upon the various mass media to make this campaign their priority in order to spread the word for the people who may be willing to donate some of their money to support the disabled. This will increase the awareness among the society of disability and will maintain social justice.

Mr. Azaat Abed Razaq, Human Resource Development Department, pointed out that SCHS is using donation money in the right way to achieve the best interest of the disabled in order to create educated and rehabilitated students that are capable of facing daily life challenges with confidence and determination.

Some of this money is used to cover for school fees for students, who cannot pay it or pay for their health insurance in order to receive free treatment, and pay for aiding tools such as wheelchairs.

The rest of the money is used to buy headsets for the deaf, stationary for school, furniture for boarding school, and special buses with elevators for the physical disabled persons, who are increasing in numbers year after year.

Mr. Azaat Abed Razaq, Human Resource Development Department concluded by emphasizing the idea that SCHS is using donation money in the right way to achieve the best interest of the disabled in order to create educated and rehabilitated students that are capable of facing daily life challenges with confidence and determination.
