On Monday, 18th, May, 2009, three of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department students graduated from the Middle East Center for Computers. The head of the center gave the three students their certificates in presence of head of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department, head of physiotherapy department, head of boarding school, head of SCHS's exhibition and books department, sign language interpreter, and some journalists. The Middle East Center for Computers has been training students from SCHS since 1988 without charging money. The center has been teaching the deaf to type in both languages by using word processors. Additional training on excel, access, and PowerPoint has been given to them. Training period starts on 15th, September to 15th, May. However, this year's graduates received a two year training course.
The three deaf graduates are now ready to work efficiently as normal people and help build their society. On the other hand, the previous year two graduates managed to take the ICDL course in computers successfully in spite of its difficulty. They have proven that they can exceed the achievements of normal people in some cases.
Mr. Jihad Mubaid, the head of the center, wished the best for the three graduates and the students of SCHS in their coming life and career. He deeply thanked head of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department for his great concern in providing the best opportunities for his students to learn and get ahead in life.
Mr. Amjad Tawhee, head of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department, has shown the feelings of gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Jihad Mubaid for his constant cooperation with SCHS and for giving deaf students the chance to train on computers and develop their skills.
After receiving their certificates, the students gave a souvenir, which is tremendous showpiece, made by the students of their department, to Mr. Jihad Mubaid. They wished that the cooperation between the two institutions will never stop in the future.
