bullet 30000 AED Donation from Dunkin Donuts Co. to SCHS

23/12/2008

On Sunday, 21st, December, 2008, the head of Dunkin' Donuts Co. Mr. David Rodriguez and the head of its marketing department Mrs. Ekriti Akran visited SCHS to hand in a 30000 AED check as a donation from the company. This money is the outcome of charity campaign organized by the company in the holy month of Ramadan. 1 AED is taken out of each sold large box of Dunkin' donuts, while 2 AED are taken out of each sold family size box. The whole sum is taken out without any addition in price. At their arrival to SCHS's administration building, guests were received by Mr. Jihad Abed Qader head of SCHS's human resources department, Mr. Osama Mardini head of media & information department, and the journalists in Al Manal Magazine Mr. Hazim Shihata.

The check is a continuation of the charity campaign which the company has started for the benefit of SCHS. The company has initiated this campaign to support one of the institutions working in the field of disability. Since SCHS has a very good reputation in United Arab Emirates, it has been chosen to receive the donation. Ever since, the procedure has become part of the company's policy and an annual habit.

Dunkin donuts customers reacted positively with this campaign. This shows the extent of understanding they have for SCHS's noble work. In addition, customers highly appreciated the advansed level which SCHS has reached in providing services for people with special needs. Therefore, next year the campaign will not be limited to the holy month of Ramadan; it will last for two months.

Dunkin donuts' company seems to think that donating money to SCHS, which it has been doing for five years, is not enough to support its full activities. Therefore, it has decided to participate in the coming Al Amal Camp in January and the Used Books Fair in March, 2009.

SCHS is very grateful to Dunkin Donuts' company for its generous donation. And not only for its concern to dedicate some of its profits to support the services provided by SCHS but also for its efforts in introducing the public to the noble work of SCHS. SCHS provides services for more than 2800 students. 85% of which are totally waivered, while the other 15% of students pay only 10% of expenses.

This campaign is outstanding and unique because it has two parts. The first part focuses on collecting money to support the services of SCHS. The second part focuses on introducing the public to the various and advanced services which SCHS provides for people with special needs in United Arab Emirates and the Arab world. SCHS highly appreciates the social role which Dunkin' Donuts' company is doing to make the world a better place.

Finally, the students Hassin Abdullah (the School for the Intellectually Disabled) received the 30000 AED check from Mr. David Rodriguez and thanked him for his support.
