14/10/2009

On Monday, 12th, October 2009, SCHS received a delegation from Germany. The delegation included a number of teachers and businesspersons. The visit is a result of the coordination with the German-Arab Friendship Society, headed by Mrs. Naimah Mohammed Oad Holman, who handled the translation from German into Arabic and vice versa. Mrs. Mona Abed Kareem, Mr. Jihad Abed Qader, Mr. Mohammed Faouzi, Mr. Osama Mardini, and Mr. Hazim Shihata received the delegation on behalf of SCHS.

After the guests arrived at SCHS's Center for Early Intervention, they saw a PowerPoint demonstration showing the various sections of SCHS and the services it provides for people with disabilities by Mrs. Mona Abed Kareem, head of SCHS's School for the Intellectually Disabled. Then, guests toured the various sections and workshops of SCHS. In this tour, they saw how the workers and supervisors deal with the disabled among other things.

After finishing their tour, guests had a meeting with Her Highness Shaikha Jameela Bint Mohammed Al Qasimmi, vice president of Sharjah family supreme council director general of SCHS, in the administration building. Her Highness Shaikha Jameela gave the delegation a general idea about the nature of SCHS's work in training, educating, and rehabilitating people with disabilities. She said that Islam urged us to take care of the week and the powerless.

The members of the delegation expressed the feelings of appreciation and astonishment for what they have seen of the unlimited support for children with disabilities by everyone. Mrs. Monica Kaiser, the teacher of mathematics and chemistry in Hamburg City, wrote this in guests' log.

Then, Mrs. Naimah Mohammed Oad Holman presented armor as a souvenir for Her Highness Shaikha Jameela Bint Mohammed Al Qasimmi, vice president of Sharjah family supreme council director general of SCHS. The souvenir is a part of the foundations of the Doom of the Rock in Jerusalem, which was renovated in 1994. Mrs. Mona Abed Kareem presented gifts and souvenirs for the members of the delegation as well.

Mr. Dmitri Bolas, a retired journalist, expressed the feelings of admiration of what he has seen during this visit. He said that the services provided for people with disabilities by SCHS are as good as the services provided in United States of America and Europe. This is due to the dedication of SCHS's workers who are doing their best in order to benefit people with disabilities.

Mr. Dmitri Bolas added that this is his first time in United Arab Emirates and that he is most honored to visit SCHS. In addition, he hopes to come back again in the future. This is the third visit, which is organized by Mrs. Naimah Mohammed Oad Holman in coordination with the German-Arab Friendship Society to Sharjah City as part of the civil and cultural dialogue between countries.
