24/01/2009

The activities of 19th Al-Amal Camp, which is organized by SCHS until the 24th January, 2009 with delegations from gulf countries and Syria, continued on Wednesday 21st, January, 2999. After their return from Khorfakhan city, delegations participated in the night party organized on camp's location. During the party, the organizing committee announced the name of the winning contester in 'the little photographer' contest Shaikha Hassin Dapahi from SCHS's Daid Branch. The winning photograph was about the mountainous nature of the east coast of United Arab Emirates.

On Thursday, 22nd, January, 2009, Al-Amal trail headed for Sharjah Scientific Museum, which was established in 1996 to become part of the growing cultural collection of museums in Sharjah city. It is one of United Arab Emirates most unique museums. It provides scientific information in a simplified easy way through its exhibited articles. Moreover, it has a staff of scholars that gives demonstrations of scientific theories on regular basis in addition to many workshops, which is dedicated to students. The main hall of the museum contains more than 50 attractive exhibited articles that cover the fields of physics, biology, and astrology.

The workers at the museum gave the visitors some information about earth and celestial sphere, which they enjoyed very much. They also enjoyed the demonstration about the human skeleton and other tools, which increase intelligence. At the end of the visit, the museum administration gave guests some souvenirs in order to remember this pleasant visit.

Then, the trail moved to Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club, where they saw many shows with horses trotting around. Some of the visitors enjoyed riding the ponies, which are raised there and trained for racing. After the, they returned to SCHS.

Another activity on today's schedule is 'challenged day' activities in which participants try to find a hidden object in SCHS premises. It includes many funny situations and gags that formulate memories and stories for guests to tell to their friends and acquaintances.

The head of the Saudi delegation Mr. Khalid Osaimi has assured that Al-Amal camp is unique because it is considered a new adventure that has a lot of experiences in it for disabled children although it is being organized annually. SCHS is very concerned in hosting new delegations each year. This adventure gives the disabled and their companions the chance to exchange experience and to be happy.

He added that the enormous efforts of SCHS to achieve its targeted objectives always rise above expectations. Year after year, Al Amal Camp is more organized. This enables SCHS from making participants of Al Amal Camp feel like one big happy family.

Mr. Khalid thinks that the integration of the disabled with ordinary people in this event is considered the most outstanding achievement of Al Amal Camp. May God rewards them good in return for bringing happiness to the hearts of people with special needs.

Mrs. Lamia Nasib the specialist in learning difficulties from kingdom of Bahrain delegation said: "I deeply thank the organizers of the 19th Al Amal Camp specially Her Highness Shaikha Jameela Bint Mohammed Al Qasimmi, general director of SCHS. It is well known to everyone that she feels happy when these disabled children are happy, which is the condition of the children of the Bahraini delegation".

She likes to suggest the idea of the camp in order to implement it in Bahrain. Due to its noble cause, it should be globalized. It brings happiness to people with special needs. The final day of 19th Al Amal Camp will include a workshop in camp's location, a trip to Suharh Mall, and the closing ceremony in which delegations are honored and farewells are said to participants.
