bullet A delegation of the Jordanian Royal Airline Academy for the Blind appreciates SCHS

On Monday, 26 October 2009, a delegation of the Jordanian Royal Airline Academy for the Blind visited SCHS. The delegation included Mr. Majed Majdoobah and Shadin Elwatte. They are both members in the Direction Assembly that has the prince Rahed Bin Zaid as an honoree president. Mrs. Mona Abed Kareem, Mrs. Meatha Bint Mijren, Mr. Mohammed Faouzi, Mrs. Hibah Abed Kareem, Mr. Osama Mardini, and Mr. Hazim Shihata received the delegation.After the guests arrived at SCHS's Center for Early Intervention, they saw a PowerPoint demonstration showing the various sections of SCHS and the services it provides for people with disabilities by Mrs. Mona Abed Kareem, head of SCHS's School for the Intellectually Disabled. Then, Mrs. Hibah Abed Kareem gave guests a clear idea about the strategy followed by SCHS in integrating blind people into public schools and about the coordination process with parents. Blind students will be observed in public schools for further assist. Blind students will learn how to read and write in Braille by using their hearing capabilities.

Mrs. Shadin Elwatte pointed out the main purpose of this visit, which is to see the services provided by SCHS to people with disabilities and to push the cooperation between the two institutions furthermore.

Mrs. Shadin Elwatte highly appreciated the advanced level of services provided by SCHS to people with disabilities. She expressed the feelings of joy and delight for taking the chance to visit SCHS. She said that this visit is just the beginning in a series of cooperative activities between both institutions.

Mr. Majed Majdoobah expressed the feelings of a appreciation and gratitude to SCHS for its enormous efforts in providing high level services to people with disabilities. He wished for the cooperation between both institutions to continue in the future for the best interest of people with disabilities.

The academy, which is still under construction, is the initiative of his highness King Abdullah Bin Hussain Bin Talal the second one year ago. The academia will be at the most prestigious and advanced levels possible.

Mr. Majed Majdoobah considered the work of SCHS as being the source of proud for all people. The secret behind its magnificent success is its belief in the great role of people with disabilities in building the community.
