bullet An educational program each Monday with the participation of the disabled

24/10/2008

As part of SCHS's Environmental Association efforts to increase awareness of the importance of keeping the environment clean, it organizes each Monday an educational program in the morning lineup in order to plant the values of hardworking and dedication in the minds of disabled students.

On Monday, 20th, October 2008, the green team in the School for the Intellectually Disabled has organized an educational program with variety of sketches in order to show the students how to keep the land, the sea, and the outside as the inside of the school clean. Students interacted positively with this program.

The program started with an explanation about the importance of keeping the environment clean because we live in it. We should be safe if the environment was safe. Therefore, everyone must fight pollution with all means possible. This explanation was given by Mrs. Salwa Assad, a teacher and Mrs. Manal Mahamoud, a social worker.

After that, sports teacher Mr. Hazim Ahmed participated students in making models for green earth, clean beaches, football field, and classroom. Then, students chanted a sonnet entitled 'I am clean, I am protected' with the participation of their teacher Mrs. Najwa Mohammed. The lyrics are by Mrs. Salwa Assad, while the melodies are by Mrs. Omima Jaber, music teacher.
