bullet More cooperation for the best interest of the disabled

On Monday, 9th, March, 2009, a delegation from SCHS visited Sharjah Institute of Technology, which is part of Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority. The delegation included Mr. Amjad Tawahia, head of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department, Mr. Mohammed Faozi, head of SCHS's Physiotherapy Department, Mr. Ahmad Hamadai, head of SCHS's Public Relations Department, and Mr. Abdullah Shahheen, assistant administrator at SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department.

During their tour in the institution, SCHS's delegation visited the air conditioning, welding, mechanics, IT, electronics, and electricity workshops. The delegation highly appreciated the advanced level of students, who strongly believe in the importance of the cooperating with other institutions in order to develop their work as expressed by Mr. Saiaad Mohammed Saiaad, the institution's vice president. Sharjah Institute of Technology is willing to give specialized courses in IT, typing, and Secretary Work for deaf and physically disabled students.

Mr. Saiaad pointed out that the institution offers a two year diploma degree in Information Technology that is certified by United Kingdom. In addition, the institution offers two kinds of teaching approaches. The first approach is the theoretical side, which is done in classes via text books. The second approach is technical, where students apply what they have learned in classes. The main goal of the institution is to train students on the latest technologies, which meet the requirements of nowadays rapidly growing world. This will provide the private and public sectors with highly qualified and trained technicians.

Mr. Amjad Tawahia, head of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department, Mr. Mohammed Faozi, head of SCHS's Physiotherapy Department, and Mr. Ahmad Hamadai, head of SCHS's Public Relations Department, thanked the administrators, teachers, and students of the institution for their great hospitality. They assured that this institution is one of Sharjah's greatest achievements. Finally, they predicted that the cooperation between SCHS and the institution will be fruitful.
