bullet Appreciating Parents In SCHS's School for the Intellectually Disabled

05/04/2009

On Thursday, 2nd, April, 2009, SCHS's School for the Intellectually Disabled organized a celebration to honor parents for the holy role they play in providing a decent life for their children. The celebration is also considered a means of education for children about the importance of their parents. The celebration started with the national anthem of United Arab Emirates followed by a blessed recitation from the holy Koran by student Mohammed Khalfan. In addition, the student Yesmean Solaiman read some of the teachings of Prophet Mohammed -peace is upon him- about this topic.

Then, the mother of the student Noojod Abed Ruhman gave a speech in which she talked about the great role of parents in raising their children. The Islamic religion has considered parents to be most respectful and honored by children. The same concept has attracted many foreigners to embrace Islam.

Another speech by Mrs. Salwa Assad, a teacher, explained the main factors and characteristics of a successful family. Parents work hard to educate their children. Therefore, the best reward they can get from their children is their success in their education.

The students of SCHS's School for the Intellectually Disabled chanted a few sonnets such as 'my dear mother', 'my mother is the most valuable thing I have', and 'mother'. Students preformed under the supervision of their teachers. Then, students participated in entertaining contests.

Then, the audience listened to two poems by Mrs. Hanyah Khateeb and thanh Ebraheem. The first poem is entitled 'to my parents' while the second one is about the Palestinian mother. Sports activities were supervised by Hanan Talat and Hazim Ahmed.

Finally, the head of SCHS's School for the Intellectually Disabled, honored Mrs. Salmanh Abed Baqi as a gesture of appreciation for her long career as a teacher. Mothers' Board honored Mrs. Fatamh Said, a teacher, and Mrs. Aafya Ahmed, a supervisor.

The celebration was supervised by Samia Salih, Nabilah Sharif, Hazim Ahmed, Rania Refahee, Salwa Assad, Marwa Barghish, Halah Arafh, Intissar Dahiry, and Moza Jonade.
