The event, which was opened by Mr. Hisham Abdullah Mathloom head of Sharjah Department of Culture & Information, is part of the activities held by the department 'the silky way'.

The artist Kaother Sabri, general supervisor of Emirates Special Arts Group, has accompanied Mr. Hisham Abdullah Mathloom head of Sharjah Department of Culture & Information during his tour in the exhibition to explain to him about the different sections and workshops that were activated such as calligraphy, pottery, and textile workshops. She gave a full explanation about the methods and techniques used to produce such magnificent and remarkable art pieces.

In his statement after the opening of the workshop; Mr. Hisham Abdullah said that the most important thing about this event is the variety of work presented by students with special needs with the help of their teachers. This indicates the great interacting and harmony between them, which will lead to the birth of creative artists with distinguished touch in the world of arts.

He mentioned the brave step of Emirates Special Arts Group in handing over the calligraphy workshop to two Asian ladies from India. They are doing a great job in this particular workshop. Mr. Hisham wished for the cooperation between the two cultures to continue in the future in order to strengthen the relationship between each other more.

In addition, he admired the advanced techniques used in textile and pottery workshops to produce the most magnificent and remarkable pieces possible on the hands of the disabled, which makes it even better. They managed to prove themselves by rehabilitation and education.

Kaother Sabri, general supervisor of Emirates Special Arts Group assured that the selection of these three workshops was not random. On the contrary, they represent the main types of art brought from eastern Asia to our Arabian world.

She mentioned the great contributions of SCHS's Vocational Rehabilitation & Training Department students with special needs in pottery workshop in addition to the marvelous contribution of SCHS's Daid Branch students in textiles workshop.

Mr. Adhim Qasim, SCHS's pottery workshop trainer, pointed out that it is a great opportunity for our students in SCHS to show their talents and creativity to the society in order to change the bad stereotypes and negative attitude towards the disabled.

Mr. Hamama Atia Abdo, SCHS's Daid Branch textile workshop trainer, considered the great success of the disabled in presenting creative art work in an exhibition such as this exhibition is a clear indication of the great effort paid by teachers and students alike to produce such an outstanding work.

The Saudi artists Mrs. Eman Omar Abed participated in 'the silky way' exhibition with group of paintings. She pointed out that her participation is a dream came true. She always wanted to join students with special needs in an art exhibition in which more light is spotted on these people. She wished the best for all the people who helped organize this event.
