bullet More than 20,000 population participate in this national environmental campaign

17/12/2008

On Thursday, 18th, December, 2008, SCHS's Environment Protection Group is organizing its annual campaign under the title 'clean UAE', which aims at motivating more than 20,000 populations around United Arab Emirates to participate in it. Many institutions such as public schools, corporations, and foundations will take part in this campaign. Due to the feast holidays, this year's campaign is going to be organized on Thursday, 18th instead of 12th. This was confirmed by the head of Environment Agency Mrs. Habiba Marashli. She said that the campaign is a pioneer because it has managed to gather thousands of volunteers since its establishment in the year 2002. It has been doing more success on the number of volunteers and sponsorship.

The campaign is incorporated with Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, EPPA, Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, and Ajman & Fujairah Municipalities.

SCHS's Environment Protection Group is going to work with several public schools from Sharjah city to clean up two different locations. The first one is SCHS premises, while the second one is an empty yard near Al yearmok district.

On Monday, 15th, December, 2008, a meeting was held in SCHS administration building to prepare for this campaign. The meeting was attended by Mrs. Khadeja Ahmed Bamakhramah and number of workers and head of departments.

The meeting discussed the required procedures to make this campaign succeed, to spotlight on this honored principle, and to plant them in the minds of people with special needs. Moreover, the outline was discussed. For example, the media coverage was discussed on the table to take the best out of it. Volunteers will gather in SCHS premises. Then, they will move to the other location or the empty yard near Al yearmok district at 9:00 AM.
