bullet The 19th Al Amal Camp participants go to Dubai

After the official opening of 19th Al Amal Camp on Sunday, 18th, January, 2009 by H.H Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimmi, crown prince of Sharjah city, the activities of 19th Al Amal Camp continue. In a very nice weather, more than 200 participants and volunteers from gulf countries and Syria were taken in a tour to sight see the elegant city of Sharjah.

Participants visited Sharjah Aquarium, where children enjoyed the colorful, rich and diverse undersea world that is home to variety of marine life native to the seas around the region. They competed in taking photographs hoping to win in 'little photographer' Award, which is being organized for the second year. This award aims at raising disabled children's taste and developing their creativity.

Delegations moved to Al Nakheel Park. Then, they moved to Al Qasba, which is truly considered a life bringing to Khalid's lake, which is considered a United Arab Emirates key monument. The lake is circled with magnificent buildings and towers.

The last part of the first day's journey was in camp's location at SCHS. A big party was organized to entertain disabled children. Mr. Maged Osiami was the host. He managed to attract the children to the different parts of the party with his sense of humor and cleverness.

In the party's delightful atmosphere, the disabled children lit nineteen candles for the nineteen years of Al Amal Camp, which started in 1986. The party included entertaining and cultural contests with many awards determined by the organizing committee. The members of the organizing committee were concerned to allow all children to participate in the activities. In addition, safety instructions were given to disabled children by the head of camp's security.

The activities of the second day of the camp started early after breakfast. The journey was to Dubai. Participants were eager to take a closer look at this glamorous city. The first location was Dubai Museum, where students toward its different departments and sections. They were accompanied by museum employees, who gave a clear idea about the historical background of Dubai, which contributed to the construction of modern Dubai.

Then, participants moved to Al Khor Park, where they enjoyed the fascinating dolphins' show, which brought happiness and joy to the hearts of disabled children. They had lunch on 'Danat Dubai' boat.

After that, they moved to 'city center' mall, where they enjoyed mingling with others and seeing the different shops and stores there.

The head of the Syrian delegation and the explorer Mr. Soliman Osimi has expressed the feelings of happiness on behalf of his delegation because they have become part of Al Amal camp; the great hospitality of the people of United Arab Emirates; having the chance to work with such responsible and caring people for the disabled; and having the chance to visit the different attractions of United Arab Emirates, which has reached an advanced level of civilization in a short period of time.

He has expressed his feelings of appreciation and gratitude to SCHS for its generous invitation and hospitality. The delegation was very glad to communicate with such good group of volunteers. Their dedication and loyalty to people with special needs indicate their great responsibility and wisdom.

Moreover, the explorer Mr. Soliman Osimi has thanked H.H Shaikha Jameela Bint Mohammed Al Qasimmi, general director of SCHS, for her efforts and dedication to serious work in order to make the camp a clear fingerprint in the history of Arab societies. This camp gives credit to people with special needs and reflects a true image about them to ordinary people.

Mr. Soliman Osimi concluded by saying: we in Arab countries are proud of the noble work, which H.H Shaikha Jameela Bint Mohammed Al Qasimmi; general director of SCHS is doing along with the volunteers for people with special needs. This camp is considered a call upon all humans to help their brothers in need.

The activities of tomorrow will include a trip to Natural History Museum. At the camp's location, a workshop will be organized from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM.
